What a beautiful, epic masterpiece this song is. Eclipse is a great album, but this one is the show stopper. My new favorite Journey song, bar none.

Brilliant song...easily one of Journey`s best post Perry songs.

In my opinion, Tantra was the sleeper for me that hit me when I least expected it. I just think it packs a big punch and is practically the closest thing on the whole album when following the Journey ballad guideline. I think it's very nicely written and obviously very well sung. Just a good change-up that gives a nice feel to the entire CD.

Not crazy about the Disney sounding intro/outro but damn !! The rest of the song is probably Arnels best vocal work yet. Parts of the verse have almost the same feel as something to hide but for just a moment. Really dont get the twinkle toes intro/outro. The middle section though is just bad ass IMHO.

Your avatar, this is the way I wanted the Journey cover to be. The real cover artwork is actually more muted than that, less orange and not as vibrant in colors. Your avatar with the brilliant almost glow of the orange contrasting the darkness on the rest of the cover on the album but in a plastic case would have been perfect

I know where they were wanting to go with Tantra but they never got there. What could have been this version of Journey's own "Wheel In The Sky" instead comes off as Broadway-style Schlock. It's like a mix of a wedding song, Broadway and a National Anthem. Overly dramatic, way too slow. Arnel's singing is way too emotional and he drastically needs to hold back on the vibrato.

My wife walked into my office when this was playing and said "Oh my God, what the HELL is that!?" I told her it was the new Journey and she replied, "Ouch!"
I couldn't argue.

I know damn well that 99.9% of the people the frequent here bought it. I edited it and listened to the song before and after it. Think it makes it fit in so much better.

They should have had this among the singles, since it could happen on AC radio, and AC radio is about the only format for new music that is happening for Journey these days. Radio is what singles are about, right? I know some don't like this song, but I think it's so good it could even get a grammy nomination if any of the right people learn it exists. It's one of the best ballads Journey has ever done in terms of musicianship, songmanship, and artistry. That being said, I'm glad this album isn't full of these kind of songs....Eclipse rocks, and I'm loving it.

Man, would I love to hear that! This song is right up Perry's alley. I think Arnel sings it great though, and I hear the soul in his voice and think he sells it in a sincere way.

If they really felt the need for at least one high end ballad on Eclipse, they should have went at it full bore and created something epic like "When You Love A woman" with the strings and big accompaniment in the back round. Tantra is trying to be too many things here and to have to 'edit this and that' to make it serviceable instantly disqualifies it as one of the better songs on the album.

I disagree. He's his own voice now, the voice of the direction that Journey is now going.
Reality is that this is not a Perry driven band now and people need to try and sever that
connection, as far as new music is concerned. He has the soul and emotion to deliver their
music but if people don't want to hear it, they won't. I understand, but it is what it is and
I'm happy to have what we do. I think Tantra is a stunning song and I'm not trying to make
a Perry connection on it. AP owns the song.
