Journey's fan base didn't look old to me ...they were
a whole new fan base, for the most part!! I was the
oldest human at the shows I attended ...
I felt more comfortable w/the New Men On The Block ...hehe

Seriously, a large portion of their fanbase is brand spankin' new!!

Don't get me wrong, he was still a team player, as usual,
and did his part by doing interviews to promote the CD, etc.

But, he said from the get go, this was Neal's CD. Hence, he

Don't get me wrong, because I don't think JC is an idiot ...
but what I do think, is that these so called team players

JC made sure to promote so he could make sure the public

Oh, please, the above posts are just so lame. From the start, NEAL said this was the album HE wanted. Jonathan's interviews were doing nothing more then saying, "Yes, it was Neal's album, but I had some input too..."

People here, including me, were complaining that Jonathan was going to be pushed out of the process..he was simply clarifying the situation. Jonathan did not need to lay the blame at Neal's feet....Neal did that himself.

Someone has to. I saw Cain tweeting about Eclipse being #14 in the UK. Dude, WTF? it's at #33. These guys seem to be in their own world as far as what is going on with sales. Maybe they aren't even aware of what happened with the promo here or the low sales.

You don't just take off the year when your popularity is at super high (2010) to have your next album tank.

So Eclipse tanks this week and the Greatest Hits climbs from #106 to #95.

To me, it doesn't look like Journey is ever going to escape (no pun intended) the greatest hits. The only way they could do this is to just tour with a Revelation / Eclipse setlist, which would be career suicide for them at this point, but you'd find out for sure how many were coming to the concerts to hear new songs and how many casuals are there for the dirty dozen.

#17 and below on that chart equates to less than a thousand DVDs a week.

Sony has all those older videos in the vault, it's their call if they get released or not and even then, certain members have to okay it. Neal's not gonna go for that. He still hopes to have people saying "Perry who?" one of these days.

Mirrorball doesn't appear to be selling well. MAYBE a Top 20 on debut. Man, Wal-mart exclusives sure ain't what they used to be.

Journey, and before that Richard Marx. Were looking at potentially less than 100k moved on debut for all three artists combined.

Wal-Mart is bleeding right now with all three of these releases flopping, especially seeing as two of them were three disc sets.

The Marx album never even cracked the Billboard 200.

Just checked. Eclipse is at #7 on Wal-Mart's best seller list, behind both of the other ones I just mentioned.
On iTunes and Amazon, it's out of the top 100.
The U.S. tour ain't going to save it.
This isn't catching Arrival (Yes, that's what I said. Arrival).

Good news on the other side of Journey's retail coin though. The Greatest Hits is back in iTunes Top 100 and at #95 on Billboard.

What are you talking about? Neal didn't have a problem with the Houston DVD. He would gladly accept another paycheck for doing absolutely nothing.

I think it is Sony who doesn't believe there is a large enough market...Or, Perry doesn't want anything else releasede on video...which he has always been against.

It depends on how much they spend to sign the artists, and how many CD's they ordered. I can see Journey costing them a bunch of money...if they paid expecting Revelation type sales. DL, may be a loss. Richard Marx? They were foolish if they expected huge sales from him.

As for the older stuff, during Perry's last chat he said he would like the stuff to get out there but Sony might not care enough to help make it happen.
