IN MY OPINION, only 1 or 2 of the songs can be DEBATED as "OK". The rest hit it out of the park.
5 of the songs (or so) are utter perfection (Bye Bye Baby, Time Of Our Lives, No Time To Lose, END OF THE DAY, Say It With Love). End Of The Day, specifically, well, if you can't at least find one aspect you like about it, then YOU DON'T LIKE MELODIC HARD ROCK!
Simply, this is the kind of album that got me into this kind of music, and I hope it does just that for others, especially youngsters.
BUT THAT IS MY $.02

It simply BLOWS Eclipse out of the water. I'm not sure where Mac came up with 100 for Eclipse, but Somewhere in California deserves it's 100 rating from Mac and knocks it out of the ballpark for me. 10 rockers and 1 ballad is the line up. There is not a song I find myself skipping through on this cd. The ballad is called "Time of Our Lives" is one of the best ballads I've heard in years. The music is top notch, NR are not trying to be something they're not (unlike Journey), the vocals are EXCELLENT from Kelly and Jack, and Brad Gillis' guitar playing is just over the top. This disc has huge hooks at every turn and will have your toe tapping start to finish. The lyrics are straight ahead rock and roll with no "state of grace" gay bullshit like Friga has come up with over and over recently. It simply rocks. Do yourself a favor and buy the best disc released in a few years. It's simply a great cd from a great band. They sound as good as they did on Seven Wishes ... maybe better.
