Not feeling it from Foreigner, at all. If they're blowing Journey off the stage, they better do better than this.
How does this work? Are we hearing it right off of a sound board? I am just clueless about such things! It seems like this is WAY less forgiving than what we'd hear there in the audience I bet! I can remember people complaining about soundboard tapes of JSS singing Journey, but when we were there live watching, we didn't hear it that way at all!!
yea, it's going to have to be a soundboard line right out to the radio truck. The fact that you get little if any audience bleed-over pretty much confirms it.
Soundboard isn't exactly what the audience hears, but it is VERY close. You may lose a bit of reverb on the vocals and flattening of the sound occasionally.. You also lose the electric atmosphere of the crowd most of the time, as you would need specific mics to pick up the audience to get that.
The other point is that what you hear near the stage and what you hear out on the lawn are totally different. I often find I need earplugs just to get a decent vocal mix near the stage.
