Probably the second most talented football player I've ever watched play. It's too bad the guy had a shitty attitude for his entire career. Dude was freakishly great and there has NEVER been a receiver in the history of the NFL with his raw talent.

He could've seemingly broken every receiving record in the book if he'd been movitated very much instead of dogging it most of the time.

The Eagles were my Super Bowl pick at the end of last season. However, I do agree with your assessments. It's almost like they are digging their own grave with all these FA signings. It seems like they are in desperate mode and trying to grab as many big name FA's as they can and hope it sticks and completely throwing out chemistry and how it's a fragile thing to build through a football team.
These signings are actually swaying me away from Philly. I'm starting to have a HUGE feel for Atlanta right row. I may sway my SB pick for the Falcons to represent.

With both Haynesworth and Wilfork on the roster, I'm thinking Belichick should ditch the 3-4, which has gotten almost no pressure on opposing QBs. Those two would make good building blocks for a potent 4-3.

The expectations here, the way things are run, this is how it’s supposed to be. The way things were going [in Washington], I almost lost faith in myself, in my ability to play. The environment was so negative. It was just such a down place. I’ve been around some really good teams, like that year [2008] we were 10-0 in Tennessee. But this is another 20 percent above that in terms of what everybody expects. We had a great coach in [former Titans coach] Jeff Fisher, but Belichick is beyond even that. He doesn’t let anything slip through the cracks. Not one little thing. It all has to be right.

Every little thing has to be right or you’re getting ripped. Everybody gets ripped, even Tom [Brady], me, everybody. In Cincinnati, nobody ever said anything to Carson [Palmer]. Not here, because that’s the expectation. I love it. They expect perfection. You don’t hear the coaches saying, ‘Good play.’ That’s what you’re supposed to do.

It does get stale and boring to most people but I love watching the young guys get their feet wet. It's all about slimming down the roster and waiting for one young man to step up and make an impression. It's nice to see some of the guys out there battling for an opening. 4th QRT's are brutal though, mostly practice squad contributions.

I do like to watch the backups play. Many starters get injured over the course of the year, and sometimes watching the preseason can give you an idea of how teams will do down the road when the season is late and the injuries are numerous.

Stop stealing my ideas!Haha, just playing. I agree. You got to look at the teams going quietly about their business that already have a championship caliber team in the making. Atlanta made it far last season and people forget they were the NFC's best record at 13-3. Thing is, is that the NFC is so powerful as of late that teams like the Falcons get lost in the shuffle very fast. Matt Ryan is entering his 3rd season, the make or break year for a young QB so I think Atlanta can come out the gates fast and pressure an already pressured Philly team (for obvious reasons) and Packers team (champions) for the right for their conference.
AFC I don't see being as strong as the NFC and that it'll come down to the same teams that have a strong backbone to contend for championships. New England & Pittsburgh being the top dawgs as the Jets, Ravens and Chargers as wild-card teams who could un-seat the top 2 at any time.
Enigma869 wrote:Haynesworth is a complete unknown, in terms of his attitude. Dude has been a douche for most of his career. That said, you won't find a more dominant D line in the entire NFL than he and Wilfork lining up next to each other. If this guy shows up to play (and so far, he is saying all the right things), the Patriots actually may have a defense. Their secondary is actually quite good. McCourty is a star in the making. Leigh Bodden (who missed the entire season last year) is healthy and Ras'I Dowling was a first round pick. Their only real question on defense is at Linebacker. Mayo is a stud. After Mayo, there is a HUGE drop-off. That said, Wilfork and Haynesworth will make stars out of some of those linebackers, because they'll both be double teamed on most plays, freeing up backers to get after the QB, untouched. By the way, there is ZERO chance Belichick is running a 3-4 with Haynesworth on this team. Will not happen. Belichick is a whole lot smarter than Shanahan has ever been, and always coaches to the talent of the guys on his team.
