Sony Music Australia is proud to announce the release of the new John Farnham album The Acoustic Chapel Sessions September 30th, 2011. This special CD+DVD will feature some of John's most loved songs. John Farnham recorded his new album The Acoustic Chapel Sessions in Melbourne in July 2011 at Chapel Off Chapel. The entire recording process was filmed resulting in a stunning CD+DVD package. The CD consists of eleven of John's classic songs stripped back and in acoustic mode, including 'Chain Reaction', 'Pressure Down', 'Age of Reason' and more.
The DVD package includes eight songs plus interviews with John and the band and behind-the-scenes footage. John Farnham said of The Acoustic Chapel Sessions "We wanted to rework some of the songs that we have been doing on stage for the last 25 years. It's always difficult to rework something that people are very used to, having said that we have had a lot of fun doing it".
Glenn Wheatley, Manager of John Farnham said "This recording has just given me goose bumps; it's amazing seeing the songs stripped right back and all acoustic. I wonder why we didn't think about doing this earlier."
The release of The Acoustic Chapel Sessions coincides with the 25th Anniversary of Whispering Jack, Australia's highest selling and most successful album ever. To celebrate this milestone John will embark on his National Whispering Jack 25 Years On in October. John Farnham and his band will perform the first half of the show unplugged featuring very special versions of some of his biggest hits as heard on the new album The Acoustic Chapel Sessions. The second half of the show will feature the Whispering Jack album performed in its entirety for the first time ever. This show is a must see for any music fan.
This is amazing! for anyone who will be in Australia, you have to see this guy perform live, seen him twice, he's still sings with power, and I think he's Perry's age too. Whispering Jack is an amazing album, it's just a neat thng to do.
The true voice of Australia, and probably the most consistent and most versatile singer of all time, very hard to argue that IMO.
