Seeing that this story still had legs (the irony) this morning, even I began to wonder if this was Eclipse promo part 2 - Neal Schon style with a long, drawn out run up to TMZ or some other media outlet finally mentioning Eclipse in a favorable light sometime in the very near future.

you really think this will sell the album? It boggles the mind to think this was planned.

Hansen joked, "I'm thinking about staging my own kidnapping ... if only I could tolerate being around those horribly obnoxious women from one of those shows for more than 5 minutes."

I got to give props to St. John. He predicted this.

"I think he had a girl in every city,” rocker Neal Schon’s ex mother in-law warns Michaele Salahi.
In an exclusive interview with RumorFix, Judy Kozan says the Journey guitarist broke her daughter’s heart.
“Even though there was a big age difference, you couldn’t tell when they first met because my daughter was head over heels in love with him. But he threw it all away.” Kozan tells RumorFix exclusively. 32-year old model Amber Kozan was married to the 57-year old rocker for eight years. The couple has two children.
“I just know that my daughter was very badly hurt by him and his daughters suffer as well from the divorce,” Kozan adds.
RumorFix has confirmed that Real Housewives of D.C. star left her husband, Tareq, for Schon and has joined the guitarist on tour.
We also chatted with Schon’s mom, Barbara Schon, who simply says, “He’s not a teenager — neither is she.”

Is Fox news mainstream?
Anyway, I sure wish this wasn't happening and that at least I didn't know about it.

We joke about this stuff and it's all in good humor and fun, but if you look at the seriousness of this, it's a pretty sad situation. I personally think this reality TV show idea - if it happens - will make the band a laughing stock in the eyes of the general public. Forget about Journey's legacy!
I think the Osborne show and the Gene Simmons show were both done in good taste - from the "family" perspective. Only if the show was correctly done could it actually prove to be fruitful for Journey, but I just don't see this at all being a great idea. I betcha shiny new nickel that Steve Perry is feeling even more relieved at the fact that he's not a part of the band now since all of this stuff has blown up! Probably Steve Augeri and Jeff as well!

On the flip side of the coin, maybe Journey is doing society a favor by exposing these so called Reality Shows and tabloid media. A "reality" show is one thing. But moving/expanding that "reality" into the real world and using the tabloid media to fuel it may finally start to turn the public off on this crap....but I doubt it. The world is fucked. If this broad wasn't on whatever show she was on, this wouldn't even be a story and no one would know. If it wasn't for these shows, the TMZs of the world wouldn't exist as a significant part of their coverage is to these "reality" stars. They feed of each other. All this stuff is a distraction from the real world. How are the wars going? Is the country still broke? Has any country defaulted today? Any real news today?
What the American public doesn't is what makes them the American public.
