YoungJRNYfan wrote:It's a bootleg. Bad quality, last 0:30 of the trailer. The dude has the entire trailer but only released that. Batfleck seems menacing. He has some terrifying words for Supes. Seems the end is close to the leaked SDCC leak from last year.

The second time it screens, it's 2 minutes, 15 seconds, so there's 4 seconds of something there that we might not get to see in the online version.

You mean I missed the first movie about the world's first Muslim superhero to make it to the big screen? And there's already a sequel?

I know where they come from and what they are supposed to be. Even though it looks like its going to be a cool movie, special effects and all, it still bothers me. And maybe the whole movie isnt going to be about it. But it bothers me that they have made it at least look like that Batman & Superman are going to be enemies.Maybe it will only be initially, until they figure each other out? But I always thought they were on the same side. Not enemies.
Monker wrote:And, this is no where close to the Star Wars trailer. Not only did it have Han and Chewie, but Luke was narrating. ties in the original trilogy with his, "the force is strong in my family..." speech and then the scene implies handing Lea a light sabre, and ties in the next generation by saying it is strong in his son. So, the SW trailer had an epic quality to it. The BvS trailer was not even close...it was about as good as the first SW trailer.

If you never read Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns back in the 80s, I can understand why you may find the teaser alarming, but remember it's just the first one, and the next one will likely be a bit different. What they're doing in this movie isn't World's Finest...yet.

verslibre wrote:"Epic"...LOL. Apart from seeing the old cast members again, I'm not expecting anything significant from these new movies. My expectations are in a "safe" zone. Everyone jizzed over the "panoramic" shot of the downed Imperial destroyer but the landscape looks so clean, there's no debris or outlying objects save a junked X-Wing. The shot actually reminded me of JJ's Star Trek reboot.

Hear that sound? It's the sound of everybody clicking the delete button back on 2013 articles who dogged on Batfleck for being cast as Batman
Monker wrote:It seems you don't know the difference between "epic" and "cinematography". Perhaps that's why you all care more about how a scene looks than why they are in that scene in the first place.

As Howard Stern so often says, "PUHleez." I've seen nothing in either teaser — granted, they're teasers — yet that doesn't equate to anything more than revisiting paths heavily trodden that grew mossed over. JJ's of my generation so while I'm certain he wants to do right by the fans that grew up with the first set of movies, and were dismayed by the prequels, I hope he doesn't appropriate so much from '77-'83 that the resultant nostalgia trip outweighs the inclination to do something original and out of the box. I hope they don't play it too safe, if you get my drift.

Monker wrote:What do you think 'epic' means? In that trailer they sum up that this is a story spanning three generations of characters...being narrated by the reigning hero of the saga. That is the very definition of epic.
Monker wrote:Star Wars has never been about anything original. It is about applying ancient mythos stories in Flash Gordan sorta way. Lucas stole ideas from every writer over the past five thousand years...and i hope that does not change because it works.

Man of Steel was the beginning of the DCCinematic Universe and is steeped in realism and that real-world tone and grit. In that, Superman is the first hero to emerge in the spotlight and it came at the hands of an alien invasion.
The Batman you see here is an adaption off of Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns, which was THEE comic that brought The Batman back to his brooding ways and it was the comic that propelled comic book and graphic novels into the next millennium.
In that book, Batman is full of angst, anger, cruelty and rage. He is terrifying and brutal and wants nothing more than to kill his enemies with fear. This is the definitive Batman story of this age and is the reason why that type of darkness exists with Batman at this level today.
So, taking that, imagine how THAT Batman is going to feel about an alien invasion and seeing a Kryptonian on his planet. I think he's going to be pretty pissed and wants to wipe the alien CLEAN of his existence and threat to this world and take pleasure in doing it with brutality.
Of course, Superman is painted as an misunderstood hero and it's going to take some time for the world to except him but it's going to take a few throwdowns and for cowards to show their true ugly face, like Lex Luthor, for the hero's to have an understanding, come together and fight for what's right. In this DCUniverse, we will eventually have a World's Finest. Batman V Superman is their first face to face encounter with each other EVER and things might start out a little rocky
