1st seasons are always like this and though SG's bound to lose ratings like any other show, it's not going anywhere. It's only 3 epidosde's in including the pilot. She'll get renewed. It's a fun show.

The funny part is that Millar is the creator of Kick-Ass, and other violent, edgy characters and comics.
YoungJRNYfan wrote:Also saw Millar said MoS inspired him to write his new comic series. That's awesome. If MoS is inspiring writers to create, it did its job since it's the base of the creation. Snyder must be smiling his ass off, because he dared to tell a different Superman story that asked if it was okay for a character like him to act in a difficult situation and people have takin notice. It's great for the character and a building block.

YoungJRNYfan wrote:It's almost like people are unaware that MoS reflects modern Superman comics and many of the concepts were takin' from the source material and current comics; even lines from All Star Superman, Earth One, For Tomorrow and Secret Origin, which Geoff Johns wrote, who is coincidentally involved in the blueprint of overseeing the DCEU, and especially The Batman. MoS raised some questions and tweaked the mythos, but the core of the character was there. People are just so keen on Reeve and SM:TM that they refuse to see that this is a modern cinematic Superman that's going to grow and evolve.

Of course they're not taking MoS as redefining 50yrs of film history. This is film, not the comics. People who know Superman from film know him from Christopher Reeves, maybe Lois and Clark, and maybe George Reeve. All of this stuff you think is canon by pointing the comics most movie goers don't know or care about.
For BvS to truly be a "game changer", all that work should have been done before hand.
And, really, "Creed"? "Civil War" is attached to SW:TFA. TFA is probably going to generate as much in presales as Creed generates in its first week. They could have done a lot better than "Creed".

One little tidbit: the 1978 film? In a couple years it'll be forty years old.

Thanks for enlightening us, Gandalf. That film could be mostly about Jar Jar Binks and it'd made a frakload of money simply because the legacy characters are in it.
Monker wrote:My point has NOTHING to do with how good or bad TFA is going to be. The point is the most coveted trailer spot this year has got to be with TFA. The number of people who are going to see those trailers is just HUGE. We all know this is a film that is going to set records for sales...and all of those people who see it are going to see the Civil War trailer. That is a HUGE promo boost for that film.
The_Noble_Cause wrote:The majority of trailers get watched online these days. Whatever screens in front of TFA is irrelevant. I watched the BvS trailer multiple times - all online. Same with the TFA trailer, which I finally saw theatrically attached to 007. Get with the times, Monker. You're living in the past.
