I didn't say "level" of humor...I said 'type'.
Monker wrote:Because sarcastic one-liners and semi-humorous exchanges are the very thing that you guys complain about in Marvel movies...and to compare apples to apples, none of this is in the Civil War trailer.
Monker wrote:Therefore, BvS turned to the same type of humor to lighten their tone and make the trailer seem less dark and serious....exactly as Marvel does in their movies.

I mentioned awhile ago that a way to introduce Wondy is for her to make an appearance through a Boom Tube and portals from one time period to another. With Doomsday showing up and then Wondy saving the day at the last second, it makes me think that could be true and I would love that.
I believe the Doomsday appearance is there for Wondy to destroy. It's going to be her defining moment that gets us ready for her solo. Everyone will connect Doomsday with the Death of Superman, but I think Diana is going to own the beast and be the scene stealer.
verslibre wrote:Then why did you write "they injected so much humor"? Because that clearly isn't the case. And note that I did say type, as well.
The Russos are in place now.
The consensus across the CBM boards is that this new trailer is tailored to general audiences, the first one was for DC/CBM/comics devotees/enthusiasts.
Talk about jumping the gun. Show me where in the trailer you hear a barrage of exchanges like the ones Stark has had with any given character. If RDJ-Stark was standing in back of Wonder Woman, he'd be ad-libbing all these remarks about her legs, her ass, what's she like in the sack, what's she doing "after the battle," and so on.
There's some passive-aggressiveness in the dialogue between Clark and Bruce. Lex shows up and acts like an ass, but his mannerisms are quite peculiar. Superman and Batman ping-pong the "I thought she was with you" line. And that's about it.
So, what is the reality...a dark and serious movie, or a Marvel movie clone with a DC label? They can't be both.

I think he's a hybrid of many forms.. we're talking Zod/Bizarro/Doomsday. In the comics, Doomsday origin was a tested lab-rat that was killed over and over and over again until he reached his final form. There could be some twist to that here. I don't think what we saw was Doomsday's final look. The backward S is interesting.

He was involved heavily as an extra on BvS and can't say much, but at the time while he was filming, he provided visual evidence in advance that ended up being true so he's a trusted poster. He said he's not concerned at all with the look of Doomsday and he does in fact grow more and more in appearance. Also, he said the movie is going to be much, much darker than the last trailer showed and how the latest trailer was cut for a bigger viewing audience but the film is going to represent more of the first two trailers as far as tone is concerned. He also said working with Snyder that Snyder isn't afraid to take on the darker aspect of what they are creating and most of the background scenes he was involved in were highly intense. I'll post his quotes later.
YoungJRNYfan wrote:Easy. This is going to be a dark and serious movie. A Marvel clone with a DC label? Here we fucking go! First off, Marvel wouldn't know two shits what to do with a villain like Doomsday. They would somehow turn him into a comedic pussy.
Second, this trailer was cut for a national live audience and for Kimmel's television audience for the mass's. The tone of this trailer skipped around because they wanted to show some instances that reassured soccer moms that it's still a superhero property with lighter banter, but make no mistake about it, if you pay attention, this movie has some dark undertones and is going to be brutally serious for the majority.
There's an abundance of difference between characters sharing a line for placed humor and shoehorning unnecessary humor at almost every gut wrenching instance like Marvel does. DC will NOT do that.
That said, there's some KILLER lines in this trailer and Chris Terrio's fingerprints are all over it. "Maybe it's just the Gotham City in me. We have a bad history with freaks dressed up as clowns." "That son of a bitch took..the war..to us..." "STAY DOWN, if I wanted it, you'd be dead already." Those were fantastic lines.
When Wondy shows up, just look at how fucking fierce this chick is going to be. I would go as far to say that she's going to single handily cut Doomy's head off with her sword and eat it for lunch! She's going to be insanely brutal, something Marvel is incapable of doing with their characters.

I believe he will be much more gnarly in his final appearance. Those bone spurs will grow. Yes, it's a backwards-S. So he's BiZod'sday!!
