Sorry! I had to do this! Take this in light-hearted fun please!
Neal & Jon
(Parody of John Mellencamp’s Jack & Diane)
A little tizzy 'bout Neal & Jon,
Two Americans fighting over Faith in the heart land,
Neal he's wants to keep the music secular,
When Neal’s not looking, Jon kicks his guitar,
Talking about the Hall of Fame at the local Applebee’s,
Jon sets his Bible on the table,
Got his hamburger loaded with cheese,
Neal he says:
"Hey, Jon, let's take off and write a new CD,
Dribble off those sappy ballads,
Let me rock as I please"
Saying oh yeah,
Life goes on, long after the thrill of Journey is gone,
Sayin' oh yeah,
Life goes on, long after the thrill of Journey is gone,
Now rock on
Neal he sits back, collects his thoughts for a moment,
Scratches his head, and does his best Herbie Herbert,
Well, now then, there, Jon, we ought to get Perry back in the band,
Jon says:
"Neal, Perry ain't missing nothing!"
But Neal he says:
"Oh yeah, life goes on, long after the thrill of Journey is gone"
Oh yeah
He says: "life goes on, long after the thrill of Journey is gone"
Oh, let it rock, let it roll,
Let the bible belt come and save my soul,
Holdin' on to the Dirty Dozen as long as you can,
Change is coming 'round real soon,
Make us play Christian Rock instead,
Oh yeah, life goes on,
A little tizzy 'bout Neal and Jon,
Not sure what they are fighting about
